Select your character

You will be prompted to select a character that represents a specific role within the care sector:

  • A Registered Manager
  • Data Protection Officer/Policy Lead
  • Care worker

You are not limited to your role in your organisation. We strongly encourage you to play through multiple characters to understand everyone’s different perspective. Each character will face unique cyber security challenges relevant to their role. Don’t worry if the character works in a slightly different type of service than you – the cyber security issues will still be relevant.

Play

Once you have chosen a character, you will be presented with a description of a cyber incident. This incident sets the stage for the decisions you need to make to manage the situation.

You will be asked to make decisions as you work your way through the scenarios. You’ll be give four potential options.

Choose the best course of action based on what you think. After deciding, you will receive immediate feedback and a score based on three factors: Security, Time, and Cost.

There are no 100% right or wrong answers.

Get your results

When you finish, you will receive total scores for all three categories: Security, Time, and Cost. These scores will help you to understand the effectiveness of your decisions and the trade-offs involved.

You’ll also find links to useful resources that provide more information and guidance to help you improve your cyber security practices.

You can now go back to the main menu and play through one of the other scenarios.
