Cyber Game

Welcome to our Cyber Game. Test your knowledge and skills as you deal with a simulated cyber attack or breach.

The purpose of the game is to test your knowledge and skills about cyber security, based on realistic incidents in social care settings. You’ll choose a character, make a series of decisions and receive a score based on the impact of those decisions on: security, time and cost.

The goal is to strike a balance between these factors, depending on the situation.

Use this game as a learning experience to understand the trade-offs involved in managing cyber incidents.

Each character allows you to play through a different cyber security scenario from their perspective. We recommend that you play the games multiple times as each character. This will help you to:

  • Understand the importance of cyber security in social care.
  • Learn how to respond effectively to different types of cyber incidents.
  • Improve your decision-making skills.
  • Enhance your knowledge of data protection and compliance.
  • Access a suite of links and resources for adult social care staff.

The Players’ Guide below explains how the game works, introduces the characters, and ensures you get the most out of the game. It also includes a short video guide to help you get started.

The Cyber Game was developed by Digital Care Hub as part of our Cyber Resilient Care programme. It was funded by the Department for Science Innovation and Technology and Innovate UK’s Cyber Local Fund. This is the first game on cyber security specifically created for adult social care staff. All scenarios can happen regardless of the type of service.
